Fight for beauty my treasure

i opened the box, and pulled out a suggestion. "stick an envelope into your journal, and for one week collect things you find on your travels." so in went the envelope.
the colours on it sparked another collage, a purple one. a colour i havent used before.
i had to forcebly pull myself away to stop making more little fine liner drawings on it... i hope i havent ruined it...

fight for beauty, was found on wish jar journal (the link is over there --->)
the envelope i still have from when i was a child, and in school we made paper and envelopes.
there are two buisness cards, one from the babushka shop, and one from some boutique. both in the city.
some butterflies were cut out from a boutiques clothing catelogue.
and the spoons are from whizz fizz packets...

Sam, I respect you as an artist, but as a Christian I am going to ask you if you would please remove all of the posts containing nudity or sexual immorality from your blog. I Corinthians 6:18 " Flee sexual immmorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." I will stop visiting this site if this is not changed.

ok, well. i just lost the post i was going to make, but this is directed at you neutronite.

firstly, thankyou for even coming here and looking at this little space of the internet that i am happy to call my own.
second, im sorry, but im not going to remove anything. i gave ample warnings and disclaimers to tell you not to look at the picture if you are offended by nakidity.

i would also like to say that what i draw is not porn, its hardly even called suggestive.

quoting bible verses at me will not acheive anything. infact, i must say that i whole heartedly believe that God created the human body, and like all things he created, he made it beautiful. i think the human body is amazing, like all things God has created.

im sorry if you have to go to protect yourself, but i must make it clear. i will continue to alkways make my art, the way i want it. i dont think im offending God, infact i think the fact that i use my gift that he has given me is something which he would be happy about.
all i hope to be able to do in this life is to share my passion with someone, to love God, and to praise him with the very life he has given me. im sorry if thats offensive to you...

An interesting question to put forth...

Both of you, Neutronite & Sam, have proposed a course of action, and you are both right, in a way. Although many people consider both nudity and spellcasting offensive, they are but drawings on paper, or in this case, a computer. Neither is intentionally trying to cause harm or go against God. Drawing either is neither affirmed nor condemned in the Bible, but modern society has taken things and given them a bad connotative meaning (although they are still practiced).

Romans 14:14 says "But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean." That pretty much sums it up: if it is not commanded against in the Bible, and you truly believe in your heart that what you are doing is not a sin, then it is not(sort of a philosophical approach, but that's the way it is). The same is true for the converse. I hate to sit on the fence like this, but it is as far as I will get into this issue.

This is an interesting series of comments.

God did create the human body in all its beauty.. And before the apple was eaten, Adam and Eve were both naked in the garden of eden.

It is all good art.

As defined by Merriam-Webster~

Main Entry: por·nog·ra·phy
Pronunciation: -fE
Function: noun
Etymology: Greek pornographos, adjective, writing about prostitutes, from pornE prostitute + graphein to write; akin to Greek pernanai to sell, poros journey -- more at FARE, CARVE

1 : the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement
2 : material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement
3 : the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction [the pornography of violence]

I would say that that drawing doesn't fall into these categories, right? The warning is good. Offending people is never cool, unintentionally or on purpose.

to talonsythes:

Michaelangelo's 'David' was sculpted in a time when society in general was intent on putting man above all other things, eventually including God. It is merely a glorification of man over all else that exists.

What I'm trying to say is that you used a bad example.

Exactly, and I suppose that it is of David, and the known world hadn't been entirely engulfed in humanism quite yet, so it's all right, I guess.
